Position Title: Collector I
Location: Phoenix, AZ 85040
Anticipated Start Date: ASAP
Job Type: Contract (approximately 5 weeks of hybrid training followed by regular hybrid work schedule)
Pay Range: $19.00/hr (entry-level) to $24.00/hr (5+ years of experience)
About the Role:
BCforward is seeking a motivated Collector I to join a Collections team in Phoenix, AZ. This role involves contacting customers regarding delinquent auto loan accounts and working to collect outstanding payments in a professional and compliant manner.
Key Responsibilities:

Locate and contact customers regarding delinquent accounts

Solicit payment arrangements and resolve outstanding balances

Receive and process customer payments

Prepare statements for the credit department when necessary

Maintain accurate and detailed records of all collection activities
Required Skills:
-
Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint)

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with fractions and decimals)

Knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and other applicable local, state, and federal regulations
Training Schedule:
-
Approximately 5 weeks
-
Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST

In-office attendance required on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during training

Must pass all training exams with a minimum score of 80%
Post-Training Work Schedule:
-
Hybrid work model (minimum 2–3 days in-office per week)

Monday – Thursday: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM EST

Friday: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM EST

Rotating Saturdays (approximately every third Saturday): 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM EST
