Kennedy Bond is an Executive Search Firm focused solely on the Biotech Industry.



We have been retained by a leading Oncology business based in Boston, MA as they scale their Clinical Operations team. They are looking for a strong Director / Senior Director, Clinical Operations to lead the trial strategy and execution for one of their lead assets.


This role can be a hybrid position for somebody based in or around Boston. Remote candidates in the Eastern Corridor will also be considered at no disadvantage - NY, NJ, PA, DC, MD, NC


We are looking for:

A minimum of 7-8 years of sponsor side Clinical Operations experience

Experience operating at the GPT / highly strategic level

Experience leading Oncology trials

Experience managing a team of CTMs, CRAs, etc.


This is a highly visible, cross-functional role operating at the intersection of Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Regulatory, Biometrics, Technical Operations, and Program Leadership, ensuring programs are strategically aligned and executed effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Act as the operational lead for one or more development programs, partnering closely with cross-functional stakeholders to drive strategy and execution.
  • Facilitate governance forums and cross-functional team meetings, ensuring timely decision making and alignment across the organization.
  • Lead integrated planning activities including timelines, risk management, resource planning, and budget oversight.
  • Collaborate with Clinical Development and Clinical Operations leadership to identify operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Support portfolio planning activities and contribute to development strategy discussions across multiple functions.
  • Provide oversight of external partners and ensure operational excellence throughout the clinical development lifecycle.
  • Help establish and refine scalable processes, governance structures, and ways of working as the organization continues to evolve.

Ideal Background

  • 15+ years of experience within biotechnology or pharmaceutical drug development.
  • Experience operating within cross-functional program leadership or governance structures.
  • Strong understanding of global clinical development and clinical operations.
  • Experience supporting development programs from early clinical stages through major development milestones.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence across functions and drive alignment in matrixed organizations.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution in a dynamic environment.
