Job DescriptionJob Opportunity: Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist

Our organization is on the lookout for a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist to become part of our esteemed and expanding program at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders (CCBD). This role will primarily be situated at one of our satellite outpatient facilities (Arrowhead or East Valley), where you will provide exceptional, family-focused hematology and oncology services within a community-oriented environment. Additionally, the position entails inpatient responsibilities at our main campus in Phoenix, requiring approximately 6-8 weeks of service annually, which fosters seamless integration with our broader division and ensures continuity of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive outpatient services in pediatric hematology and oncology at a satellite clinic.
  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of benign hematologic conditions and pediatric cancers.
  • Provide ongoing care, including survivorship and supportive services.
  • Participate in inpatient care at the main campus (approximately 6-8 weeks per year).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and program development.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology.
  • Eligibility for licensure in Arizona.
  • A strong dedication to clinical excellence and teamwork.

The CCBD is among the largest pediatric hematology/oncology programs in the Southwest, boasting over 50 providers and a robust presence in clinical research, subspecialty care, and programmatic expansion. Position DutiesPatient Care Services

  • Provide patient care services within your clinical privileges, including but not limited to:
    • Direct patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
    • Subspecialty consultations and follow-up care.
    • Diagnostic and therapeutic services/procedures.
    • Urgent/emergent care as required.
  • Aim for optimal patient and family-centered care.
  • Support hospital patient satisfaction goals and division-specific targets.
  • Adhere to divisional standards for patient safety and quality of care.
  • Practice contemporary evidence-based medicine.

Divisional Responsibilities

  • Work towards achieving annual goals and objectives for the physician, division, and hospital.
  • Support medical education initiatives within the division, including:
    • Supervising trainees and allied health professionals in service delivery.
    • Conducting teaching rounds, lectures, and conferences for trainees.
    • Participating in the education and supervision of trainees and allied health professionals.
    • Engaging in postgraduate continuing education activities.
  • Contribute to the division's research efforts and support initiatives from other members.
  • Assist in the programmatic growth of the division.
  • Support satellite initiatives of the division as appropriate.

    • Effective communication via telephone, computer, or other devices.
    • Ability to fulfill after-hours or night call responsibilities as necessary.
    • Consistent attendance during scheduled work hours.
