Who We Are
Cristo Rey Orlando High School is located in Orlando, FL, and is part of the national Cristo Rey Network. The school opened its doors to its inaugural freshmen class in the fall of 2025. Like all Cristo Rey schools, it is a Catholic, college preparatory high school for students of all faiths from families of limited financial means. The school is co-educational and serves students of diverse backgrounds. We help our students grow intellectually, academically, emotionally, spiritually, socially, and morally. Our aspiration is that all our students graduate from high school and college and become the future leaders in our churches, institutions, businesses, nonprofits, and the community at large.
Cristo Rey Orlando will prepare students to excel in college, in career, and in character. Our college-prep curriculum, Corporate Work Study Program (CWSP), and faith-based education combine to give students a unique experience and an affordable option for high-quality education.

This Role
Cristo Rey Orlando High School is seeking a mission-driven Dean of Student Success
and Culture. The dean is a key member of the school leadership team and plays a
pivotal role in cultivating a positive, structured, and mission-driven school culture rooted in
the Cristo Rey values. This position provides leadership in student discipline, restorative
practices, teacher development, and student life programming, while ensuring that
students are supported academically, socially, and emotionally. Key Responsibilities:
Student Discipline and Restorative Practices
- Lead and oversee the schools discipline system, ensuring consistent, fair, and restorative
approaches aligned with the Cristo Rey mission. - Serve as the primary point of contact for student behavior incidents, ensuring timely
investigation, documentation, and resolution. - Promote proactive classroom culture through consistent expectations and positive
reinforcement. - Provide one-on-one mentoring for students with repeated behavior concerns, emphasizing
reflection, goal setting, and accountability. - Communicate with parents and guardians regarding behavior concerns, support plans, and
progress. - Maintain accurate and confidential discipline records within PowerSchool.
Academic Intervention and Student Success Support
- Work closely with the Success Team to regularly review student data and identify academic
intervention needs across all grade levels. - Support the coordination, planning, and implementation of academic
interventions, including Tier 1 classroom supports and Tier 2 and Tier 3 targeted
interventions, to ensure students receive the right level of assistance. - Collaborate with teachers to help them think through the intervention process thoughtfully
and strategically, including how to modify instruction, provide additional scaffolds, and
monitor student progress. - Assist in developing systems that track intervention effectiveness and ensure consistent
follow-up so students remain on a clear path toward meeting academic expectations and
graduation requirements. - Serve as a partner to teachers, offering guidance, feedback, and problem-solving to
strengthen their instructional practices in support of all learners. - Establishing communication with families in support of their students academic success.
Teacher Training and Classroom Management
- Support and lead professional learning on classroom management, student engagement,
and restorative practices. - Observe classrooms and provide actionable coaching feedback to promote consistent
behavioral expectations. - Collaborate with the success team to ensure management strategies align with instructional
goals. - Support professional learning team ; teacher coaching.
- Support new teacher onboarding with training in schoolwide expectations and restorative
approaches. - Serve as a mentor for teachers needing additional behavioral or classroom support.
Testing Oversight and Coordination
- Support school wide testing processes in collaboration with the Assistant Principal and
Success team to ensure efficient and accurate administration. - Support logistics for assessments (NWEA MAP Growth, PSAT, AP exams, etc.), including
scheduling, proctoring, and accommodations. - Uphold test integrity and ensure compliance with all testing protocols.
- Analyze assessment data to identify trends in academic and behavioral outcomes that
inform interventions and culture strategies.
Student Culture, Surveys, and Engagement
- Lead schoolwide culture initiatives that promote inclusion, leadership, and adherence to
core values ; overall student character development. - Administer and analyze student culture and climate surveys to inform programming and
support. - Partner with the counseling department and success team to ensure social-emotional and academic support align with student needs.
- Recognize and celebrate students for positive behavior, leadership, and achievement through recognition programs and events.
Events Coordination and Student Life
- Serve as the Student Events Coordinator, planning and executing schoolwide events such
as assemblies, pep rallies, dances, and service initiatives. - Collaborate with the Innovation Friday team and leadership to create enrichment experiences.
- Ensure all events promote student inclusion, leadership, and alignment with Cristo Reys mission.
- Manage event logistics, timelines, communication, and staff/volunteer coordination.
Data, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement
- Track and analyze student discipline, attendance, and engagement data using
PowerSchool and other platforms. - Prepare and present reports on student culture and discipline trends to the leadership team.
- Collaborate with the success team to ensure cross-departmental communication and
consistent data tracking.
Collaboration and Leadership
- Collaborate closely with the success team to align academic and cultural systems.
- Participate in leadership meetings, professional development, and school planning
sessions. - Support daily supervision during arrival, lunch, transitions, and dismissal to maintain safety
and order. - Serve as a visible, approachable leader who models professionalism, compassion, and the
Cristo Rey mission.
Professional Growth
- Maintain and expand knowledge in the Well-Managed Schools framework, restorative
practices, and culturally responsive leadership. - Lead professional development for staff in classroom management and school culture.
- Participate in Cristo Rey Network training and professional learning opportunities.
- Model continuous reflection and growth aligned with the schools mission and vision.
- Performs other duties and special projects as assigned by the Principal.
Required Qualifications
- Permanent Teacher Certification and Administrative Certification.
- Masters Degree in Educational Leadership, Counseling,Social Work, Education, or related
field. - Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Education, Counseling, or Social Work with extensive
leadership and school culture experience or related field. - At least 3-5 years of experience in educational leadership, Counseling, Behavioral
Sciences,Human Development / Child and Adolescent Development, Student Affairs / Student
Development, Behavioral Intervention or Special Education, or related field. - Ability and willingness to work occasional early morning, evening, and weekend hours.
- Physical demands include being required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and climb stairs.
- Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment.
- Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience implementing restorative practices and behavior management
systems. - Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students, families, and staff.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, with a commitment to fostering
a positive and inclusive school environment. - Proficient in using educational technology and data analysis tools to support school
operations and student achievement. - Dedicated to supporting the school's mission and values, particularly in a faith-based
educational setting. - Proficiency in Spanish is preferred.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, Google Suite.
