Build Your Career Where Your Skills Matter

At B&D Foods, our maintenance team doesn't just fix equipment. They keep one of Idaho's largest food manufacturing operations running 24/7.

For more than 50 years, we've produced many of the foods people across the country enjoy every day. Behind that success is a maintenance team that takes pride in solving complex problems, improving equipment, and making a real impact every shift.

If you're the kind of technician who enjoys troubleshooting, automation, PLCs, electrical systems, mechanical repairs, and continuous improvement, you'll fit right in.

Even better? Our company averages 10 years of tenure because we invest in our people, promote from within, and give technicians opportunities to continue expanding their skills.

What You'll Be Doing

Every day brings something different. You will:

  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation issues.
  • Work with PLCs, VFDs, motors, sensors, instrumentation, and industrial control systems.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance that keeps our plant running efficiently.
  • Install, modify, and improve production equipment.
  • Support automation projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain boilers, utilities, wastewater equipment, and facility systems.
  • Read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Sanitation teams to solve equipment challenges.
  • Mentor developing technicians and share your knowledge.
  • Help create permanent solutions instead of temporary fixes.

We're Looking For Technicians Who

  • Love troubleshooting and solving difficult problems.
  • Take pride in quality workmanship.
  • Enjoy learning new technologies.
  • Work safely every day.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Can work independently while supporting a strong team.

Preferred Experience

Experience with some or all of the following:

  • PLC troubleshooting
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • Industrial electrical systems
  • Mechanical maintenance
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Welding and fabrication
  • Motors, conveyors, pumps, and gearboxes
  • Industrial automation
  • Food manufacturing (preferred but not required)
  • HVAC, boilers, plumbing, or facility maintenance

If you don't check every box but have strong industrial maintenance experience and a willingness to learn, we'd still like to hear from you.

Why B&D Foods?

At B&D Foods, you're not just another maintenance technician.

You'll join a team that:

  • Has an average employee tenure of 10 years
  • Values safety, teamwork, and craftsmanship
  • Invests in technical training and career development
  • Encourages continuous improvement
  • Gives technicians the opportunity to work on advanced manufacturing equipment
  • Promotes from within whenever possible

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 75 pounds
  • Stand and walk for extended periods on concrete floors
  • Bend, kneel, climb, and work safely around industrial equipment
  • Work in varying temperatures typical of a food manufacturing environment

Ready to Build Something Bigger?

If you're looking for more than another maintenance job and want to join a stable company where your skills are respected, your ideas are valued, and your work makes a measurable impact every day, we'd like to meet you.

Apply today and help keep Idaho's best-kept secret running.
