Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher position is available at a K-8 community school in the northern Denver suburbs, specifically Aurora, CO. This contract opportunity focuses on a center-based classroom serving students in grades K-3 with moderate to severe needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering specialized instruction within a moderate to severe special education setting.
- Managing a caseload of up to five students (currently three) to meet individual educational goals.
- Collaborating closely with two dedicated paraprofessionals to ensure effective classroom support.
- Participating in planning and evaluation meetings to tailor instruction and interventions.
Qualifications:
- Current Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Education Teacher certification is required.
- Experience working with moderate to severe special education populations preferred.
- Ability to implement individualized education programs (IEPs) effectively.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including working with paraprofessional staff and school teams.
This position begins immediately and will continue through May 29, 2026, coinciding with the academic calendar including spring break. The hiring process includes a prescreening call followed by a panel interview.
