We are excited to announce an opportunity for a full-time Pediatric Hospitalist to become a part of the Department of Pediatrics at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center located in Newark, NJ. This role is set within a dynamic inpatient environment that emphasizes clinical care, education, and teamwork, all while being aligned with our mission-driven approach.

Position Overview

The Pediatric Hospitalist will be responsible for delivering comprehensive inpatient care for both our newborn nursery and pediatric units. This position also involves supporting the education of residents and medical students. Additionally, the role includes engaging in quality and safety initiatives as well as participating in departmental activities aimed at providing outstanding pediatric care.

Key Responsibilities

• Admit and manage general pediatric patients on the A5 unit.
• Provide consultations for surgical patients and conduct history and physical examinations for inpatient pediatric behavioral health (CCIS).
• Deliver care to newborns in the hospital and attend deliveries as needed.
• Supervise, mentor, and teach medical students and residents.
• Engage in didactic sessions, assist with board preparation, and evaluate residents.
• Contribute to pediatric quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Attend departmental and divisional meetings and fulfill assigned administrative responsibilities.
• Participate in shared call coverage on a rotating basis.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics.
• Licensed or eligible for licensure in New Jersey.
• Previous experience in pediatric inpatient or academic hospital settings is preferred.

Compensation

The expected salary range for this position is between $125,000 and $260,000 annually. The final compensation will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate's educational qualifications, skills, and professional experience.
