Summary:
The Portfolio Manager analyzes securities, manages client portfolios, and executes rebalancing, trading, cash management, and tax-efficient strategies while ensuring alignment with client goals and fiduciary standards. The role includes preparing investment reviews, supporting Relationship Managers in new business, contributing to the Investment Advisory Committee, and maintaining strong compliance and risk-management practices.
Responsibilities
- Analyze individual stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other investment products for consideration for inclusion in investment portfolios and models.
- Become proficient in operating systems and portfolio management software.
- Manage client accounts according to objectives and investment policies, executing portfolio rebalancing, cash management and tax efficient strategies.
- Manage implementation and trading of model strategies.
- Perform regular investment reviews, presenting clients with information on asset allocation, portfolio analytics, performance and economic and market updates.
- Possess fiduciary standards knowledge.
- Assist Relationship Managers in new business efforts.
- Member of the Investment Advisory Committee.
- Provide other portfolio management support as needed, working within a team approach.
- Understand your role as defined by the three lines of defense to maintain a compliance culture that includes risk management processes.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in finance, economics, or related business field preferred.
- CFA, CFP or MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years work experience in finance.
- Ability to work independently of daily supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work with team members.
- Some travel to other CWM/CFS offices/regions may be required.
