Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An experienced Registered Nurse with expertise in Emergency Room care is needed to provide high-quality nursing services in a dynamic clinical environment. This contract role offers the opportunity to care for a broad spectrum of patients, from routine clinic cases to critical traumas including strokes, STEMIs, Level I traumas, post-surgical complications, pregnancy complications, pediatrics, behavioral health, and all aspects of emergency care.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care following the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
  • Manage complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social patient needs with sensitivity and professionalism.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to protocols; monitor for side effects and therapeutic effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers by assessing learning needs and providing clear information and resources.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members, delegate tasks appropriately, and contribute to efficient clinical operations.
  • Uphold standards consistent with professional competencies and organizational policies.

Qualifications:

  • Current RN license in New Mexico or an active Compact License.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience in Emergency Room nursing, preferably within trauma levels I, II, or III.
  • Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and TNCC.
  • Successful completion of orientation, onboarding competencies, and ongoing annual validation requirements.

Work Schedule:

  • Multiple shifts available, including evenings and nights.
  • Six weekend days worked per six-week cycle.
  • Two on-call shifts required every six weeks, covering emergencies or extra staffing needs.
