Job Title: Project Manager IV – Mechanical/Heavy Industrial
Job Description
The Project Manager IV – Mechanical/Heavy Industrial is responsible for leading assigned construction projects, partnering with field operations, and providing technical support to ensure safe, on-schedule, and profitable project completion.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to and promote all Company Safety Policies and the Company Code of Conduct.
- Plan, organize, and staff key field positions through regional department heads to achieve the best allocation of resources within a defined budget to meet project expectations.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards according to the Pre-Planning Process outlined in the company Policy.
- Initiate and maintain liaison with prime clients and NE contacts to facilitate construction activities.
- Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendents to ensure projects are built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
- Represent the company in project meetings; assist in labor negotiations/strategy meetings.
- Manage financial aspects of contracts to protect the company's interest and maintain good relationships with clients.
- Support all company reporting functions such as weekly reports, timecards, and annual reviews.
- Protect the company from improper “At-Risk” activities, especially by monitoring adherence to all safety procedures.
- Manage both Design Build and Bid Build projects, including managing the design process for the Design/Build process.
- Perform miscellaneous other duties and responsibilities to support company strategic initiatives.
- Collaborate with Superintendents, on-site crews, and subcontractors to drive safe, timely, and high-quality project execution.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a similar discipline, or a combination of education and construction-related experience.
- 10+ years of progressive construction management leadership experience with responsibility on projects $7.5MM+.
- Expertise in construction methodologies, design principles, financial management, and delivery practices.
- Knowledge of structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and building systems.
- Demonstrated leadership excellence, highly organized and decisive.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with clients, subcontractors, and consultants.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Background in self-performing construction.
- Basic usage of Bluebeam and Adobe Products.
- Experience with COINS ERP system for purchasing is a plus.
- Experience with Procore and OSHA 30 certification.
- Familiarity with critical path scheduling software (MS Project, P6, or similar).
Work Environment
The position is based in an office setting either in East Hartford or Auburn, MA, with project on-site visits required once a week. A hybrid work schedule with flexibility is available after 90 days of employment. Project sites are located in CT, Central MA, Western MA, and outside the Boston Area, currently scattered throughout MA.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Hartford, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $64.90 - $72.12/hr.
