Job Description
The Nurse Clinical Lead assumes a dual role of clinical caregiving and team leadership. This position is responsible for providing safe, high-quality nursing care while also supervising and coordinating clinical staff activities to ensure efficient daily operations. The Nurse Clinical Lead acts as a liaison between staff and center leadership and plays a pivotal role in staff development and workflow optimization.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Care Responsibilities

Perform all IR Sedation Nurse duties, including:

Assessment of patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure.

Administration of moderate sedation and ongoing monitoring of patient status.

Ensuring all procedure preparation, documentation, and inventory control protocols are followed.

Managing narcotic documentation and security.
-
Conducting post-operative patient calls and chart documentation.

Oversee crash cart maintenance, AED checks, and medication stock management.

Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold patient confidentiality standards.

Train new nurses and medical assistants as needed.
Supervisory and Leadership Responsibilities
Clinical Workflow Oversight

Monitor daily clinical operations, ensuring patient care flows smoothly and efficiently.

Identify and resolve workflow bottlenecks or procedural issues.
Staff Scheduling and Management

Have authority to adjust daily schedules and staff assignments as needed based on staffing levels, procedure volumes, or urgent needs.

Coordinate staff schedules, covering call-outs, emergencies, and vacation/time-off requests.

Approve and facilitate real-time schedule adjustments to maintain optimal patient care coverage.
Leadership Collaboration

Collaborate closely with Practice Management and IR Centers Leadership on center operations, staffing models, and strategic planning.

Participate in leadership meetings, contributing clinical insight to center decisions.
Staff Development and Evaluation

Give feedback on peer reviews, staff performance evaluations, and participate in competency assessments.

Identify staff educational needs and recommend training opportunities.

Serve as a mentor and support for nursing and medical assistant staff.
Quality and Compliance

Assist in implementing and auditing quality assurance initiatives related to clinical services.

Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as internal policies.
Reporting Structure

A continued cadence of monthly calls with the IR Centers Clinical Nurse Manager will also be maintained for ongoing clinical support and oversight.
Qualifications
-
Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in state of GA.

Minimum 5 years experience in moderate sedation, IR, or procedural nursing preferred.

BLS and ACLS Certification (Or willingness to obtain)

Previous leadership or charge nurse experience strongly preferred.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Ability to lead by example, fostering a positive and collaborative clinical environment
