Degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT Certification), and minimum 1+ years MRI experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is ideal for an MRI Technologist skilled in magnetic resonance imaging with experience administering gadolinium-based contrast materials. Located in Urbana, IL, this contract position involves performing detailed MRI procedures and ensuring imaging quality and patient safety.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures according to established protocols.
- Preparing and administering gadolinium-based contrast materials safely.
- Critiquing imaging quality, positioning, technical factors, and alignment.
- Reviewing patient data for accuracy, quality, and completeness.
- Monitoring patients for adverse reactions to contrast material and responding appropriately.
- Assisting other modalities within the imaging department as needed.
- Maintaining imaging equipment, supplies, and workstation orderliness.
- Communicating with radiologists and healthcare providers to ensure accurate and timely imaging interpretations.
- Utilizing RIS and PACS systems for scheduling, coding, and image management.
- Contributing to staff training and research activities as applicable.
- Reporting safety events promptly to maintain a secure environment for patients and staff.
Qualifications and desired experience:
- Certification and licensure as an MRI Technologist.
- Proficiency in MRI imaging protocols and contrast administration.
- Ability to operate and maintain imaging equipment effectively.
- Strong patient care and communication skills.
- Knowledge of radiology information systems and image archiving systems.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Willingness to perform duties in other imaging modalities if cross-trained.
