Now Hiring: Youth Support Shift Lead

Location: Timber House | Willingboro, NJ

Job Type: Full Time

Schedule: Monday - Friday 12pm - 8pm

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Pay: $21.50

Crossroads Programs, Inc. an Apis Affiliate is seeking a professional interested in joining our team as a Youth Support Worker in Willingboro, NJ. The ideal candidate is professionally passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of adolescents with autism, intellectual and developmental disabilities.

About Hope Homes – Timber House

Hope Homes – Timber House provides a therapeutic environment that focuses on providing individualized care and support to our residents, between 14 – 21 years old. Our team of professionals play a vital role in helping our adolescents navigate their unique challenges and empower them to reach their full potential. Hope Homes – Timber House believes in the power of a supportive and inclusive community.

Summary of Essential Duties:

  • Leadership & Coordination: Oversees shift operations, assigns duties, and motivates staff to maintain a structured and nurturing environment.

  • Youth Engagement: Works directly with youth facing behavioral health challenges, providing trauma-informed and strength-based support.

  • Skill Building: Designs and leads life skills and educational activities tailored to each youth’s needs and strengths.

  • Assessment & Personalization: Evaluates youth in daily functioning to customize services.

  • Transportation & Mentorship: Provides transport, reinforces social skills, and serves as a mentor and on-call support when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent

  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in social work, Human Services, Psychology, or Counseling

  • Minimum of 2 years working directly with youth in an out-of-home treatment setting

  • Some program elements may require 3–5 years of experience

Other requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Physical & Drug Screening, Criminal Record History, FBI, and Child Abuse History Clearances

In addition, the ideal Youth Support Shift Lead:

  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to build meaningful relationships with residents, families, and team members.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the unique needs and challenges faced by these individuals.
  • Will be able to assist with daily living activities and implement behavior management strategies.
  • Can remain calm and composed in challenging situations, demonstrate patience and understanding.
