Home & Health Care Management is the oldest home health care agency in Northern California. Our agency specializes in delivering comprehensive in-home care and case management for older adults, children, and those living with disabilities across many counties. We use a matrix of Medi-Cal, Medicare and targeted health programs to find solutions that work for our clients


The Role: The Scheduling Specialist provides scheduling support to HCBA Case Management for Monthly Calls, Re-assessments, etc.

You enjoy working in a fast-paced office where your efforts to provide excellent customer service are noticed and rewarded. You are detail-oriented, deadline-focused and enjoy, processing paperwork, scanning, indexing, and auditing medical records. You enjoy speaking with clients on the phone and assisting them to access health care programs and understand what it means to hold confidential information securely. You are a self-starter, who can see the bigger picture or end game even though today did not go as planned.


Responsibilities:

  • Manages scheduling requests for HCBA Case Managers.
  • Assists in maintaining schedules for case managers with input from the Office Manager, CEO, RN Case managers and SW Case managers.
  • Responds promptly and courteously to all Case Manager inquiries or problems regarding scheduling.
  • Communicates continually with Office Manager and Case Managers to evaluate the scheduling of services, and maintains excel spreadsheet with participant list and completed calls, documents received, etc.
  • When scheduling cases, evaluate employee schedules without the use of overtime whenever possible.
  • Covers front desk as needed; answering phone calls and directing calls to the appropriate staff member.
  • Performs other specific duties as assigned and defined by the Office Manager and CEO.

Essential Requirements:

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality to HIPAA standards.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the principles of file and records management.
  • Ability to follow through with projects with minimal assistance and supervision.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, work relatively independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet recurring deadlines.
  • Ability to cooperate and communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and co-workers, creating a mutually beneficial working relationship.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work with others, at all levels within the organization, and collaborate effectively.
  • Ability to type 45 WPM with 5 or less errors
  • Critical thinking skills and willingness to learn new skills
  • Valid California Drivers License
  • Eligible to be insured under our liability policy with a clean DMV report
  • Your own vehicle and proof of current auto insurance
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Schedule:

This position is Full-time, 40 hours a week, Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm with 1 hour lunch. This position will be reporting daily to our Chico office.

Travel:

Some travel is required for in home visits and possible future trainings to our Redding and Sacramento office.


Physical Requirements:

Conditional job offer is successfully passing a medical exam that tests amongst other things the ability to move, visual acuity, and hearing acuity. Physical requirement for this role specifically includes:

  • Sits, stands, bends, lifts, walks, and moves intermittently during working hours
  • Able to lift to 35 pounds without assistance
  • Able to drive


Compensation:

Starting pay is $21 per hour.

Vacation benefits accrue starting on your first day of employment, and you can take paid vacation, sick and holiday leave after 90 days.
We offer a 401(k) matching up to 4% after 1 year of employment and 1,000 hours worked.
