We are seeking a skilled Tool & Prototype Maker to support precision manufacturing operations in an onsite environment. This role involves building, maintaining, and repairing tools, molds, and prototype components used in production. The position includes hands-on work with CNC machinery, adherence to safety and quality standards, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. An assessment will be part of the interview process. This is a non-travel role with potential for permanent conversion based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily tool room operations while following internal procedures and safety guidelines
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to fabricate dies, tools, jigs, and assemblies
  • Inspect finished parts using precision instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Operate and maintain CNC machines, including mills, lathes, and EDM equipment
  • Assemble, repair, and modify tooling, dies, and fixtures using hand and machine tools
  • Design and develop templates and jigs to support efficient production processes
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve production challenges
  • Select appropriate materials based on project requirements and manufacturing processes
  • Ensure all components meet quality and dimensional standards

Qualifications:

  • 2-year vocational training in a related field preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in toolmaking or prototype manufacturing
  • At least 3 years of experience programming 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machines
  • Experience with equipment such as Amada turret punch press, press brake, Hurco machining centers, and wire EDM
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam)
  • Strong understanding of tooling materials, machining processes, and fabrication techniques
