GENERAL SUMMARY
This position of Design Drafter is responsible for creating and changing drawings and related documentation for MeasureSafe, using SolidWorks/AutoCAD system. This involves maintaining documentation such as layout design drawings, bill of materials and Engineering Change and Release Notices.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Update or create drawings and CAD models using SolidWorks/AutoCAD and established company drawing procedures.
• MeasureSafe Drafter
o Create drone flight plans of property to be surveyed.
o Assess project scope and determine a market value for pilot.
o Interact with customers, sales team and pilots to schedule flights of properties.
o Evaluate flight data to assess risks and design a fall prevention plan to be OSHA compliant.
• Create detailed fall prevention layout drawings and BOMs for quoting and installation.
• Communicate with customers in call/team meeting as needed as SME for fall prevention.
• Prioritize projects and coordinate with team to remain accountable to project commitments to all shareholders.
• Support sales and customer care by assisting in all technical specifications related to products/projects, such as code compliance, engineering specifications, documentation and guidelines for safe use and installation.
• Drive continuous improvement through the development and/or enhancement of internal design process of Garlock Safety layout processes.
• Review layout drawings to ensure adherence to standards, accuracy, easy to read format.
• Research and understand OSHA standards.
• Participate in project team meetings on an as needed basis.
• Perform other duties as assigned, such as, but not limited to:
o Under the general direction of the Sr Product Engineer, update or create drawings and CAD models using SolidWorks and established company drawing procedures.
o Document and assist with implementation of documentation changes by creating or updating information required for engineering change orders and engineering release notices.
o Maintain the accuracy of existing design and production documents, such as bills-of material, routings, drawings, and item master information.
o Create, update, and maintain existing product manuals based on director of Product Engineers and applicable bill of material changes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Two-year associate's degree in technical drafting, mechanical design or similar technical
drawing program. Minimum of 3 years related experience using SolidWorks to create
drawings and models of components and basic assemblies


LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical documentation and engineering
drawings. Ability to effectively communicate and interact with co-workers to effectively
complete tasks.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply basic mathematical principles, including percentages.


REASONING ABILITY
Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal
with several abstract and concrete variables. Application of sound judgment in the execution
of all activities.


COMPUTER SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS
Proficient in SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD. Experienced with engineering drawing practices, such
as ANSI Y14.100 and Y14.5.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be able to obtain or possess a valid motor vehicle driver's license.


A background and drug screening will be conducted for employment purposes.
