Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opening position is available for an Elementary Self-Contained Special Education Teacher to serve a full-time contract from January 5, 2026, through May 28, 2026. This role involves leading a self-contained special education classroom for elementary-aged students with diverse learning levels and exceptionalities. The assignment is within an elementary school setting in Jacksonville, FL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction tailored to the individual needs of students with exceptionalities
- Manage and lead an elementary self-contained ESE classroom
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educational teams
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
Qualifications:
- Active Florida Special Education (ESE) certification
- Valid Florida K-6 or PK-3 General Education certification
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in special education settings
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
Job Details:
- Location: Jacksonville, FL, at a single school site (to be confirmed)
- Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week (7 hours per day), on-site only
- Contract Duration: January 5, 2026 May 28, 2026
- Compensation: Target pay rate between $38 and $50 per hour
