Sales Engineer

A manufacturing company in Racine, WI is looking for a knowledgeable and results-driven Sales Engineer to support its machine shop operations. The Sales Engineer will work closely with clients to understand machining requirements, propose custom manufacturing solutions, and manage the quoting and sales process. Ideal candidates will have a background in mechanical engineering or CNC machining, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements of the Sales Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required

  • Proven sales skills including communication, needs assessment, negotiation, and closing

  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems

  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes in a machine shop environment

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general PC operations

Responsibilities of the Sales Engineer

  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers during pre-sales and post-sales processes

  • Conduct in-depth consultations to evaluate customer needs related to machining and secondary operations

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and new prospects

  • Translate customer requirements into practical machining solutions using shop capabilities such as CNC milling, turning, prototyping, and precision machining

  • Review RFQs and RFPs for alignment with shop capabilities and potential ROI

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of shop equipment, materials, tolerances, and processes

  • Stay up to date on industry trends, new technologies, and customer applications

  • Deliver technical presentations and demonstrations of shop capabilities

  • Assist with trade shows, customer visits, and plant tours

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, and forecasts in ERP and CRM systems

Full-Time, DIRECT HIRE

Pay is $80,000 - $90,000 annually, based on experience
