An opportunity is available for an experienced Pharmacy Manager / Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to lead and develop the operations of a specialty pharmacy in Foxborough, MA. This contract-to-hire position offers a unique chance to be instrumental in launching and growing a new pharmacy site alongside a supportive pharmacy team. The role requires expertise in specialty pharmacy, infusion, or compounding to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient medication management.

Location: Foxborough, MA
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM with weekend on-call rotations
Contract Duration: 13 weeks with potential extension up to 26 weeks

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing prescription review, verification, dispensing, and regulatory compliance (State Board of Pharmacy, FDA, DEA, URAC, ACHC)
  • Providing patient counseling and managing medication therapy for complex specialty disease states
  • Supervising pharmacy technicians and interns, fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Collaborating with Intake, Referral, Nursing/Clinical, Reimbursement, and Pharmacy Operations teams to streamline pharmacy workflows and patient onboarding
  • Maintaining accurate pharmacy records and supporting quality assurance and incident resolution
  • Participating in an on-call rotation to support pharmacy operations during weekends

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Active Massachusetts Pharmacist License (required); Connecticut license preferred or readiness to obtain promptly
  • BS or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
  • 3+ years in specialty, infusion, hospital, or similar pharmacy settings; retail-only backgrounds do not meet requirements
  • Strong knowledge of specialty therapies, payer requirements, and patient qualification processes
  • Experience supervising or working closely with pharmacy technicians
  • Familiarity with CareTend system preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and pharmacy software systems
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and multitasking skills
