Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time contract opportunity is now available for an experienced Special Education Teacher eager to make a meaningful impact within an inclusive classroom setting. This assignment runs from August 3rd, 2026, through May 21st, 2027, with likely additional days dedicated for pre- and post-planning to ensure the best possible experience for both students and staff.
You’ll be supporting a caseload of around 8–9 students in an inclusion environment at an elementary school, collaborating closely with two highly supportive and professional teams. This opening arises as the previous teacher transitioned earlier, offering a fantastic chance to bring your skills and fresh perspective to an established and welcoming group.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Hold a valid GaPSC Teaching Educator Certificate with SPED General Curriculum endorsement
- Direct experience in special education within a school setting, ideally with inclusion-based instructional approaches
- Demonstrated ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual learner needs
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive environment for students, staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and support to students within the general education classroom
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families on student progress and accommodations
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with all state regulations and requirements
