JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Planning & Development provides strategic leadership and oversight for the
transit planning, scheduling, service development, and system performance initiatives. This position is responsible for the development and implementation of long- and short-range transportation plans that support operational goals, strategic priorities, regional mobility needs, and customer service
objectives.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Strategic Planning & Service Development
1. Develops, implements, and oversees long- and short-range transit service plans,
strategies, and programs aligned with strategic goals and regional mobility
initiatives.
2. Directs transit service planning activities for fixed-route and paratransit operations,
including route design, scheduling, service evaluations, and operational performance
analysis.
3. Conducts system-wide service assessments and cost-benefit analyses to improve
operational efficiencies, service reliability, accessibility, and customer experience.
4. Monitors transit trends, demographic changes, land use developments, and emerging
transportation technologies to recommend service improvements and strategic
initiatives.
