Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher serving K-12 students with social/emotional disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. This role supports an inclusive educational environment, providing targeted instruction and assistance to students in both self-contained and resource settings. Located in Warwick, RI, the opportunity covers the current school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing a self-contained elementary caseload of 8 students in grades K-2, collaborating with two paraeducators to deliver individualized support
- Providing resource support for a caseload serving 3rd and 4th grade students (caseload size TBD)
- Developing and implementing IEPs tailored to students needs in social/emotional disabilities and autism spectrum areas
- Monitoring student progress and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to enhance learning outcomes
- Maintaining clear communication with families and school staff to promote student success
Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education teaching certification appropriate for K-12 education
- Experience working with young learners (K-4), particularly those with social/emotional disabilities and autism spectrum disorders
- Ability to collaborate effectively with paraeducators and other school personnel
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive classroom environment
