Position Summary
The Onsite Supervisor is responsible for the daily coordination and oversight of construction activities for a hotel development project. Working directly under the Construction Manager, this role ensures that work is executed safely, on schedule, within scope, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. The Onsite Supervisor serves as the primary field presence, coordinating subcontractors, monitoring progress, and maintaining site discipline and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Coordination
- Oversee daily onsite construction activities for all trades.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure efficient workflow and sequencing.
- Ensure work is performed according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedule.
- Identify and resolve field issues in collaboration with the Construction Manager.
- Conduct daily site walks to monitor progress, workmanship, and compliance.
Schedule & Productivity
- Support implementation of the master project schedule.
- Monitor daily production and manpower levels.
- Anticipate potential delays and proactively recommend solutions.
- Ensure timely delivery and proper use of materials and equipment.
Quality Control
- Enforce quality standards consistent with hospitality construction requirements.
- Inspect work for compliance with plans, specifications, and brand standards.
- Document deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Assist with punch list development and closeout procedures.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce jobsite safety policies and OSHA/local regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Ensure all subcontractors adhere to site safety standards.
- Report incidents and coordinate corrective measures.
Communication & Reporting
- Provide daily reports to the Construction Manager detailing progress, issues, and manpower.
- Participate in site meetings and coordination meetings.
- Maintain updated field documentation including daily logs, RFIs, change orders, and inspections.
- Liaise with inspectors and local authorities as required.
Site Logistics
- Manage site access, housekeeping, and material storage.
- Coordinate inspections and testing activities.
- Assist in managing equipment and temporary facilities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5–10 years of commercial construction experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in hotel or hospitality construction strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and building systems (MEP, structural, finishes).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documents.
- Familiarity with construction scheduling and reporting tools.
- OSHA certification (or equivalent) preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
