Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position in Smyrna, TN, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and working night shifts in a 13-week travel assignment.
Details
- Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week
- 13-week travel contract
- Women's Services unit in a main hospital setting
- Unit includes 9 L&D beds, 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and a 3-bed OBED
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Unit is supported by a unit secretary and scrub tech, with a dedicated CRNA and midwife in-house 24/7 and an OB/GYN on call
- Documentation systems: CPN and Meditech
- 4 weekend shifts required per month
- May float to mother/baby or outside the department for tasks
- Procedures performed include circulating in the OR, IUPC, FSE, MgSO4 administration, postpartum hemorrhage management using the JADA system, and nitrous oxide
Requirements
- Active TN or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (AAP Advanced 9th Edition), and fetal monitoring (intermediate or advanced AWHONN, or NCCEFM)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Unit operates on a laborist team model with 24/7 midwives, a dedicated CRNA, and an OB on call
- An 8-bed Level 2 NICU with a dedicated NNP available 24/7, including for high-risk deliveries
- Couplet care is provided in the postpartum unit, with donor milk available to support breastfeeding
- Skills in Spinning Babies and STABLE are considered helpful for this role
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care, supporting patient birth preferences and promoting vaginal birth opportunities is expected
- Unit has been recognized as an HCA Unit of Distinction (2021) and serves as a TIPQC Pilot hospital for NTSV and Team Birth
- Required scrub color: hot pink top with black or hot pink bottoms (hot pink top preferred)
