Robert Half Management Resources is recruiting for a Payroll Manager to support our publicly traded Technology client on a 3+ month (100% remote) engagement. The role will report to the Chief of Accounting and will oversee the three-person payroll team to ensure timely and accurate payroll close cycles and support Workday system improvement or other areas of improvement. The Payroll Manager is primarily responsible for processing a bi-weekly payroll run for 1,400 employees (mostly salaried based in the US) located throughout the globe. The right consultant will have a strong sense of ownership, excellent analytical skills, and experience working in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:

• Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for a global team of salaried employees using Workday, ensuring compliance with established procedures and regulations.

• Supervise and guide a team of three payroll specialists, reviewing their work and addressing escalated issues or inquiries.

• Process quarterly employee investments and implement upcoming merit increases in alignment with organizational policies.

• Identify and recommend areas for improvement in payroll processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing payroll-related questions and concerns from employees promptly and professionally.

• Ensure compliance with multi-state payroll requirements and manage international payroll operations in various global locations.

• Handle payroll-related tasks such as processing RSUs, managing tax withholdings, and overseeing leave of absence procedures.

• Minimum of 10 years of payroll management experience, including handling large-scale payroll operations for over 500 employees.

• Proficiency in Workday and Cloud Pay systems; experience with ADP is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and international payroll practices.

• Demonstrated expertise in processing RSUs and managing complex payroll-related tasks.

• Familiarity with tax withholdings, 401(k) administration, and leave of absence procedures.

• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to perform thorough self-reviews to ensure accuracy.

• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach to resolving payroll inquiries.

• Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
