Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the university's SEVIS database to ensure compliance of the F-l visa regulations including enrollment registration, change of employers, addresses, and other reportable SEVIS student actions.
  • Manage, process, and assist all students with CPT, OPT and OPT STEM applications/ authorization in accordance with USCIS regulations and school policies.
  • Conduct OPT and CPT workshops in collaboration with the Director of Global Engagement.
  • In collaboration with the Global Engagement staff, advise the international students of situations ranging from immigration issues to personal concerns, emergencies, conflicts, and problems affecting SEVIS records.
  • Establish and maintain good rapport with students and contribute to a welcoming community to all international students on campus.
  • Stay abreast of F-l visa regulations and procedures in international education .
  • Knowledge of FERPA requirements for security of applicant and student information.


Required Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess an associate's degree.
  • Enthusiasm about working with international students, advising and ability to use complex software platforms and social media.
  • Knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
  • Understanding of FERPA and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be eligible for employment in the United States of America to serve as a Designated School Official.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or professional experience in international education including knowledge of and experience with U.S. federal regulations governing noni m migrant visa categories, with a focus on F-1 (student) and SEVIS compliance are preferred .

  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.
  • Evidence of strong organizational abilities and the ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume, environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with different campus offices.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in an emerging and changing environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information.
  • Computer skills and proficiency with a variety of computer applications including word-processing, and reporting platforms, as well as online calendaring and email (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CAMS and Canvas) .
  • Effective problem-solving skills and demonstrated ability to take initiative.
  • Experience working in or with diverse constituencies
