Job DescriptionPosition Overview

The Budget Analyst plays a key role in supporting the organization's financial planning, monitoring, and compliance activities. This position requires expertise in Deltek Costpoint as well as a strong understanding of federal financial regulations, including OMB Circulars and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200). The analyst ensures that budget practices align with regulatory standards and organizational objectives while providing financial insights that support strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, track, and manage program and organizational budgets in alignment with internal objectives and federal funding requirements.
  • Prepare detailed financial forecasts by analyzing historical data, spending trends, and anticipated resource needs.
  • Conduct variance analyses comparing budgeted figures to actual expenditures and recommend corrective actions when needed.
  • Utilize Deltek Costpoint to manage labor charges, monitor funding availability, reconcile expenses, and generate financial reports.
  • Ensure compliance with Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), OMB Circulars, and other applicable federal financial regulations.
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc reports for leadership, highlighting financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Work closely with program managers, contracts teams, and finance leadership to support financial decision-making.
  • Support budget modifications, reprogramming actions, and updates to financial plans as required.
  • Assist in improving budget processes, reporting tools, and overall financial workflows.
  • Maintain awareness of changes in federal regulations, ensuring continued compliance in all budget activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Prior experience as a Budget Analyst or related financial role, ideally in a federally funded organization.
  • Proficiency with Deltek Costpoint for budgeting, reporting, and financial tracking is required.
  • Strong knowledge of OMB Circulars, Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200), and federal compliance standards.
  • Experience with forecasting models, variance analysis, and financial reporting.
  • High-level Excel skills and familiarity with financial systems or ERP tools.
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to present complex financial data clearly to non-financial stakeholders.

Pay Details: $30.00 to $38.00 per hour
