Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Critical Care (CCU)
Location: Syracuse, NY
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Nights – 3x12 Hours (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule Requirements: Every Other Weekend & Some Holidays

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift assignment supporting an Adult ED/ICU Holding Unit in a high-acuity acute care hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong ICU experience and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Clinical Setting

• Adult ED/ICU Holding Unit

• High-acuity patient population

• Level I or Level II Trauma environment preferred

• EPIC Electronic Medical Records system

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients.

• Perform advanced nursing assessments and interventions in an acute care setting.

• Monitor, evaluate, and document patient condition and response to treatment.

• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff.

• Maintain accurate documentation within EPIC EMR.

• Deliver safe, evidence-based patient care with minimal supervision and orientation.

• Adhere to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License/Registration.

• BLS Certification (must be current and maintainable).

• Minimum 1.5 years of recent ICU experience (within the last 2 years) in a comparable acute care facility.

• Experience in hospitals of equal or greater size and trauma designation (Level I or II preferred).

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• No history of professional license suspension, investigation, or professional liability claims.

• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

• Must pass pre-employment health clearance, background check, and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications

• Emergency Department (ED) experience.

• Prior experience with EPIC EMR.

• Trauma center experience (Level I or II).
