Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Seeking two dedicated paraprofessionals to support students with severe needs at K-8 or high school levels in a special education setting. These contract positions run from late February through mid-June 2026 in the Philadelphia area, serving classrooms with high-intensity behavioral and educational requirements.
Location & Schedule:
- Primary assignment: Samuel Everitt School, Levittown, PA (high school caseload)
- Alternate assignment: Pearl Buck Schools, PA (elementary caseload) if Samuel Everitt reaches capacity
- Samuel Everitt hours: MondayFriday, 7:30 AM 3:00 PM, 37.5 hours/week
- Pearl Buck hours: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 3:30 PM, 37.5 hours/week
- Mandatory orientation held biweekly from 8:30 AM 4:30 PM
- Tentative assignment dates: 02/23/2026 06/12/2026, following the school calendar
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students demonstrating severe needs within special education classrooms
- Assist with implementing individualized educational plans tailored to behavioral and academic goals
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to foster a safe and productive learning environment
- Participate in ongoing orientation and training sessions
Candidate Qualifications:
- Minimum 1+ year experience as a paraprofessional in a special education setting with severe needs students
- Must reside within 35 minutes commuting distance of Levittown, PA
- Availability during full-time hours between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM including mandatory orientation attendance
- Comply with all Pennsylvania Department of Education clearances within required timelines
- Must meet Pennsylvania paraprofessional qualification standards by possessing at least one of the following:
- Two years post-secondary study (48 college credits)
- Associate degree or higher
- Credential of Competency or Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate
- Or complete the seven-module certification within 60 days of hire
Additional Requirements:
- Successful completion and submission of required documentation including state clearances and supervisor reference checks
- Commitment to work assignments subject to change based on organizational needs
