Position Overview
We are seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, smart, and reliable Patient Care Specialist to join our team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that patients are accurately scheduled for appointments and procedures. At Foot and Ankle, we are passionate about creating positive and meaningful interactions with our patients to provide them with the best service in the nation! This role is crucial for ensuring smooth operations throughout all departments while adhering to industry standards and regulations. We’re excited to meet the right candidate(s) who will contribute to the growth and positive culture at Allevio!
We expect our specialists to efficiently schedule, reschedule and cancel appointments, schedule referral appointments, and verify patient demographic information. They should be self-sufficient, holding valuable time management skills along with personal accountability. To be successful as a specialist, you should be helpful, courteous, and patient when answering telephone calls. Having high organizational and attention to detail skills will ultimately help you succeed in this role an exceptional specialist should be able to build and maintain a good rapport with referring physicians and co-workers.
Key Responsibilities

Providing our patients with an above and beyond experience with every interaction.

Scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling patient appointments as required.

Answering patients’ questions regarding basic medical tests and procedures.

Providing instructions to patients to ensure that they are prepared for examinations and procedures.

Confirming patient appointments.

Courteously receive incoming telephone calls and receive/respond to messages as needed.

Explaining financial requirements and obligations to patients and entering payments into the practice management system.

Scheduling referral appointments and follow-ups.

Verifying insurance details and informing patients of un-covered fees.

Filing documents and organizing supplies.
Requirements & Qualifications
-
Proven experience working in a medical office.

Working knowledge of medical terminology and medical insurance plans.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).

The ability to type and file accurately.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Good telephone etiquette.

Preferably bilingual (Spanish speaking)

Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to establish immediate rapport with patients

One year of experience in customer service or reception in a health care environment preferred

Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills

Previous healthcare experience and/or familiarity with medical terminology helpful
