Medical Assistant (Temporary Assignment – 90 Days)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Pay:$19.50–$22.00/hour
We are looking for a Medical Assistant to support a busy clinic with both front and back office responsibilities. This is a temporary position (up to 90 days) and includes direct patient care. The MA will report to the Office Manager and assist providers in delivering high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients, take vitals, and record patient history in EMR
- Assist with exams, procedures, and in-office diagnostics
- Administer oral and injectable medications, start IVs, and draw blood
- Handle front-desk duties: scheduling, answering phones, and patient check-in/out
- Maintain patient records and ensure exam rooms and supplies are stocked
- Educate patients on procedures, medications, and care instructions
- Support providers during procedures and maintain a clean, safe environment
- Help with onboarding new staff and support team as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program (RMA or CMA preferred)
- 1+ year of MA experience preferred
- CPR certification and IV/phlebotomy experience preferred
- Proficiency with EMR systems, Microsoft Office, and Google Suite
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
Physical Requirements
- Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 15 lbs
- Must have reliable transportation

At least one year of clinical medical assisting experience
* Interview patients to obtain medical information and measure their vital signs, weight, and height.
* Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician. Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes. Clinical duties may include taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.
* Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
* Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
* Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients.
* Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
* Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments or materials or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures.
* Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
* Collect blood, tissue, or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
* Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
* Greet and log in patients arriving at office or clinic.
* Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms.
* Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
* Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
* Change dressings on wounds.
* Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admission.
* Operate x-ray, electrocardiogram (EKG), or other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests.
* Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies or equipment.
* Schedule appointments for patients.
