Position Summary
Unity Health Care is seeking a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our dynamic team. The CNM will provide full-scope reproductive and sexual health care including prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecological services. This role involves both outpatient clinical services at Unity Health Care sites and inpatient care at Howard University Hospital.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services.

Obtain and evaluate comprehensive medical histories and physical exams.

Order, interpret, and follow up on lab and radiology tests.

Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.

Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, as needed.

Provide patient education and counseling for health maintenance.

Manage labor and delivery care at Howard University Hospital.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and refer as needed.

Participate in peer reviews and quality improvement efforts.

Respond to emergencies and arrange patient transfers as necessary.
Qualifications

Current DC Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) license, CDS, and DEA registrations.

Minimum 2 years of experience in an ambulatory care setting (experience with underserved or homeless populations preferred).

Bilingual skills, especially in Spanish, are a plus.

Ability to take on regular on-call rotations.
