Salary: $80,000 - $105,000 per year

Job Details
JOB DESCRIPTION INCLUDES:
- Develop and maintain vendor relationships
- Coordinate with internal groups to ensure vendors are properly supported to maintain Subcontract schedule
- Ensures vendor compliance with all subcontract requirements
- Assists and advises engineering, quality, accounting, production, and project management departments as needed
- Regularly reports vendor status to management groups
- Monitors shipments and deliveries, advising the logistics department of best shipping methods
- Vendor invoice reconciliation & maintain Purchasing files and documents
- Maintains records and prepares documents for Buy America compliance and audits
- Maintains records and prepares reports for DBE compliance
- Maintains regular vendor communications through meetings, email, or other communication
** Some travel will be required (domestic and international) - please have a car that you can use to go to customers and vendors** WILL BE REIMBURSED FOR TRAVEL.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to work with diverse personality and cultural groups
- 3+ years working experience in the rail industry, preferably in a purchasing or contracts capacity
- Advanced computer skills on MS Office
- Ability to work independently or with minimal oversight on standard problems
- Solution-oriented, ie ability to analyze current processes, identify areas of inefficiency and suggest improvements
- Ability to read, understand, and discuss basic technical concepts. Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings and documents is a plus!
- Strong background in managing multiple supplier issues simultaneously is desired
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related area or equivalent experience in Purchasing or Contract
