Onboard Systems Hoist & Winch, located in Anaheim, CA is one of the world’s leading providers of Search & Rescue (SAR) and Human External Cargo (HEC) advanced mission equipment for civil, commercial, and military helicopters.


The Aerospace Material Planner is responsible for managing the planning, procurement, and inventory control of materials required for aerospace manufacturing and assembly processes. This role plays a critical part in ensuring that materials are available when needed to meet production schedules while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with industry standards.


Material Planning and Procurement:

  • Develop and maintain material requirements plans based on production schedules, forecasts, and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with purchasing team to ensure timely delivery of materials and components.
  • Analyze and forecast material needs to optimize inventory levels and minimize excess stock

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock is available for production.
  • Implement inventory control procedures and systems to track material usage and turnover rates.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Collaborate with engineering, production, purchasing, customer management, and quality assurance teams to align material planning with production requirements.
  • Communicate with customer management team and value stream leaders any suppliers regarding order status, lead times, and any issues that may impact material availability.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide updates on material planning, inventory status, and summarize risks and opportunities.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in material planning, scheduling, and procurement to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Utilize data analysis and reporting tools to monitor performance metrics and inform decision-making.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in materials planning, production scheduling, and inventory management, preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and inventory management software.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of aerospace materials, manufacturing processes, and industry regulations is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP is a plus
  • APICS certification is a plus
