Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) PER DIEM provides comprehensive, patient-centered care to patients in the pre-operative and post-operative phases of ambulatory surgery, ensuring a safe and efficient surgical experience. You will work collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care.
Responsibilities:

Pre-Operative Care:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments.
- Prepare patients for surgery, including medication administration, IV fluids, and patient education.
- Obtain informed consent and ensure all pre-operative requirements are met.
- Coordinate with surgical team to ensure a smooth transition to the operating room.

Post-Operative Care:
- Provide post-anesthesia care, monitoring patient recovery and vital signs.
- Manage pain and address patient concerns.
- Prepare patients for discharge, providing clear instructions and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth patient transitions.

General Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Participate in quality improvement activities.
- Provide patient and family education as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey.

Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a surgical setting, or ambulatory surgery center experience required.

- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.

Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification required.
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required
