Role Summary

The Sales Manager leads Spyder Construction's business development function in the Denver and Colorado Front Range markets. This role is responsible for managing a Business Development team, driving sales strategy, maintaining key client relationships, and ensuring disciplined pipeline management. The Sales Manager represents Spyder in the marketplace and ensures alignment of sales efforts with company capacity and growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a Business Development team.
  • Establish weekly meeting cadence with clear expectations for pipeline quality and lead progression.
  • Hire and develop team members aligned with company culture and annual plan.
  • Implement vertical and account segmentation strategies across insurance restoration, construction defect, and roofing scopes.

Account & Relationship Management

  • Define and manage account classification logic (Strategic, Dormant, Target, Net-New, Referrer).
  • Transition warm relationships into structured strategic accounts.
  • Drive long-term planning with high-opportunity clients and ecosystem partners (adjusters, attorneys, consultants, engineers).
  • Manage account reactivation campaigns.

Pipeline & Sales Execution

  • Maintain personal accounts, pipeline, and quota to model expectations for the team.
  • Oversee top-of-funnel activity: lead qualification, disqualification, and risk screening.
  • Ensure disciplined use of CRM/Smartsheet for accurate data, forecasting, and champion tracking.
  • Conduct weekly pipeline and aging reviews.

Vertical Expansion & Strategic Pursuits

  • Identify emerging sub-segments within core verticals and design entry strategies.
  • Coordinate with estimating and project directors on complex pursuits.
  • Represent Spyder at key industry events.
  • Collaborate with leadership on quarterly initiatives to expand market reach.

Internal Collaboration & Systems Discipline

  • Ensure BD activity is visible and structured in CRM.
  • Drive updates across estimating, project directors, and marketing.
  • Provide market feedback to marketing for positioning and messaging.

Successful Candidates at Spyder Construction:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in sales management within the construction industry.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Strategic planning and execution abilities.
  • Ability to quantitatively forecast and then consistently meet or exceed targets

Pay range$100,000—$125,000 USD
