PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIAN

MIDDLETOWN VA CLINIC

MIDDLETOWN, RI

Our organization is in search of a committed Primary Care Physician to become part of our team at the Middletown, RI outpatient clinic, dedicated to serving the brave individuals who have defended our country. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, providing an excellent work-life balance and the chance to significantly impact the lives of Veterans.

Position Highlights & Responsibilities

  • Comprehensive Primary Care: Assess and manage a wide variety of acute and chronic health issues, perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and create patient management strategies.

  • Multi-Disciplinary Teamwork: Collaborate within a Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) that includes an RN care manager, LPN, clinical pharmacist, psychologists, and social workers to provide coordinated, holistic care.

  • Education & Mentorship: Instruct and guide medical students, residents, and other learners, nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals.

  • Integrated Support Services: Operate within a system that ensures easy access to social work, travel assistance, housing, and pharmacy services—eliminating the need for pre-authorizations or multiple formularies.

  • Small-Clinic Feel, Large-System Resources: Choose to work at the main facility with a large academic atmosphere or at one of our smaller community clinics. Regardless, enjoy the camaraderie and patient-centered focus typical of a small clinic, supported by the extensive resources and stability of a comprehensive healthcare network.

  • Documentation & Compliance: Utilize an interoperable electronic health record (EHR) that integrates seamlessly with the Department of Defense and other federal partners, enhanced with advanced technology—including AI tools—to facilitate high-quality, efficient patient care and enable thorough population health analysis.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, hold an M.D. or D.O. degree, possess at least one year of Primary Care experience, and have a full, active, and unrestricted medical license.
