Job Title: Residential Elevator Installer
Location: Hagerstown, MD Area
Job Type: Full-Time
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Residential Elevator Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience installing residential elevator systems and a strong background in mechanical and/or electrical work. This role requires precision, technical knowledge, and a commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship in residential settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install residential elevator systems in accordance with manufacturer specifications, project plans, and local building codes
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals specific to elevator systems
- Assemble and install rails, hoistways, drive systems, control panels, and safety components
- Perform electrical wiring, connections, and system testing
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation or performance issues
- Conduct final inspections and ensure systems meet all safety and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, and homeowners throughout the installation process
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized job site
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience installing residential elevators (required)
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of safety standards and building codes related to elevator installation
- Proficiency with hand and power tools
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces, ladders, and heights
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with multiple residential elevator brands and systems
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training
- Electrical certification or relevant trade license
Work Environment:
- Residential construction and retrofit job sites
- Physically demanding work including lifting, climbing, and extended periods of standing
- Travel to various job locations may be required
