A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a Hawaii RN license to provide skilled nursing care across multiple units in a well-established medical center located in Volcano, HI. This contract role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact while working 12-hour night shifts, supporting diverse patient needs in medical and surgical settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care floating between Medical Unit (77 beds), Laulima Surgical Acute Unit (18 beds), and occasionally Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds)
- Utilize clinical skills with equipment including Meditech EMR, Pyxis medication system, wound vac therapy, and chest tube management
- Adhere to nursing protocols and patient safety standards while managing patient loads consistent with unit-specific nurse-to-patient ratios
- Participate in orientation and ongoing unit-specific training to ensure readiness across care areas
- Maintain professional nursing attire and uphold facility standards
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Hawaii RN license required by assignment start date; must obtain upon offer acceptance if not currently held
- 2 to 10 years of nursing experience preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC certifications are a plus
- Ability to float confidently among medical, surgical, and cardiovascular units
- Must be available to arrive the Thursday before start date for mandatory employee health appointment on Friday
- Immunity documentation required; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted
Schedule & Contract Details:
- 12-hour night shifts (18:45 to 07:15)
- Scheduled for 36 hours per week after initial orientation week
- No guaranteed minimum hours beyond schedule
