Polk Mechanical is looking for a dedicated Employee Care & Benefits Specialist to join our onsite People Operations team in Grand Prairie, TX. In this key role, you’ll help shape a workplace where employees feel genuinely cared for, understood, and empowered; supporting them through every step of their journey with us.
You’ll serve as the primary resource for all things related to benefits, compensation, and wellness, offering clear guidance, timely support, and empathetic service. Whether it’s navigating healthcare plans, planning for retirement, or understanding time-off policies, your expertise will make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of our team members.
What You'll Do:
Compensation & Payroll Coordination

Partner with Finance and Payroll to ensure accurate benefits deductions and timely compensation.

Assist in salary benchmarking, pay equity efforts, and compensation planning.

Support compliance with wage laws, classifications, and compensation best practices.
Benefits Administration

Administer medical, dental, vision, life, disability, PTO, and voluntary benefits.

Guide employees through enrollments, eligibility, and claims.

Maintain benefits data in HRIS and ensure compliance (ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA).

Communicate policy updates and deadlines clearly and proactively.
Retirement & Financial Wellness

Manage 401(k) administration and financial literacy tools.

Provide resources to help employees plan for short- and long-term financial goals.
Employee Wellness & Leave Management

Administer leave of absence programs (FMLA, ADA, parental leave, etc.).

Provide support and ensure compliance throughout the leave process.

Champion wellness programs that promote mental, physical, and emotional health.
Employee Advocacy & Support

Act as a trusted partner for employees navigating work-life challenges.

Promote mental health resources and employee assistance programs (EAP).

Help build a culture of care, accessibility, and support.
Performance & Retention Support

Assist with performance review processes and training coordination.

Conduct exit interviews and report on engagement trends to inform retention efforts.
Culture & Engagement

Coordinate wellness and recognition events to support a positive work culture.

Collaborate with the Employee Experience team on onboarding and engagement strategies.
Who You Are:

Empathetic and employee-focused, with strong communication skills.

Detail-oriented with a solid understanding of benefits, wellness, and compensation programs.

Experienced in HR/People Operations with a service-first mindset.

Knowledgeable in employment laws and compliance related to benefits and compensation.

Collaborative and adaptable, able to work effectively with employees at all levels.
Preferred Qualifications:

3+ years of experience in HR, Benefits, or People Operations.

Familiarity with HRIS systems and benefits administration tools.
-
SHRM-CP, CEBS, or related certifications are a plus.
