Location: Elmhurst, NY 11373
Duration: 14 Weeks
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM (3 Days/Week)
Hours: 34.5 Hours/Week
Position Overview
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for an ICU Step Down Unit. This role involves caring for patients transitioning from intensive care who require close monitoring and a higher level of attention than general medical-surgical patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to step-down patients
- Monitor patients using medical equipment such as cardiac monitors, ventilators, feeding tubes, and catheters
- Perform frequent patient assessments and promptly escalate changes in condition
- Respond to rapid response and cardiac arrest situations
- Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of approximately 1:4
- Deliver care to patients ranging from young adults to geriatric populations
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of ICU or Step Down (Medical/Surgical SD) experience
- At least 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
- Minimum 2 years of conscious sedation experience
- Demonstrated competency in age-specific patient care
Education Requirements
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN or ADN) from an accredited program
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certifications & Licensure
- Active New York State RN License
- Verification through NYS Department of Education (NYSED)
- AHA BLS Certification
- AHA ACLS Certification
