About the Role
Medix Staffing is partnered with a multi-state Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) healthcare organization to hire an experienced Corrected Claims Specialist to support its Revenue Cycle Management team. This fully remote, contract-to-hire role is designed for professionals who have strong hands-on experience with government payer claims, denial resolution, and ABA or behavioral health billing.
This position plays a critical role in improving cash flow and reducing aging accounts receivable by ensuring denied and underpaid claims are corrected, resubmitted, and resolved accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities

Review denied, rejected, and underpaid ABA therapy claims to determine root causes, including coding, authorization, modifier, eligibility, and documentation issues

Correct and resubmit claims in compliance with payer-specific guidelines and timely filing rules

Prepare and submit corrected claims, reconsiderations, and formal appeals as required

Ensure all claims align with ABA billing standards, medical necessity requirements, and payer policies

Monitor claim status and conduct consistent payer follow-up until final resolution

Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of claim corrections and payer communications

Partner with authorization, intake, clinical, and billing teams to resolve discrepancies and prevent future denials

Identify recurring denial trends and contribute to process improvement initiatives

Manage a high volume of claims while meeting productivity and accuracy benchmarks
Qualifications (Most if not All Required)

Minimum of 3 years of medical billing or revenue cycle experience, with a strong focus on denied or corrected claims

Demonstrated experience billing ABA therapy or behavioral health services

Hands-on experience working with government payers, with TRICARE experience strongly required

Working knowledge of ABA CPT codes, including 97151, 97153, 97155, and 97156

Strong understanding of payer rules, modifiers, authorization requirements, and medical necessity documentation

Proven ability to manage a high volume of claims while maintaining accuracy

Experience preparing and submitting corrected claims, reconsiderations, and appeals

Proficiency with EHR and billing systems

Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work independently and stay organized in a fully remote environment

Compensation & Contract Details

Hourly rate: $20-$24/hour, based on experience
