Position Summary
The Physical Therapist evaluates, plans, and implements individualized treatment programs for patients with physical injuries, disabilities, or functional limitations. The PT works to restore mobility, reduce pain, improve strength and function, and promote overall wellness. This role requires strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and a patient-centered approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical history review, physical examination, and functional assessments.
- Develop customized treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals.
- Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, neuromuscular re-education, and other interventions.
- Educate patients and caregivers on exercise programs, injury prevention, and home management strategies.
- Use evidence-based practices and stay informed on current research and treatment methods.
- Document evaluations, progress notes, and treatment outcomes accurately and in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive clinical environment.
- Provide mentorship and direction to Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) and support staff as applicable.
Qualifications
- Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT)
- Licensure: Current state Physical Therapist license.
- Certifications: CPR/BLS required.
- Experience: New graduates welcome; clinical experience in relevant setting preferred.
