Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing specializing in telehealth services. This contract position is based in Newark, NJ, and offers the chance to provide specialized instructional support to students with hearing impairments through remote platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing via telehealth technology.
- Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet the unique needs of each learner.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with families, audiologists, and other educational professionals to support student success.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with relevant educational regulations and standards.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Experience providing educational services through telehealth or remote platforms.
- Strong knowledge of hearing impairment communication methods, including ASL or other assistive technologies.
- Ability to create engaging and accessible lesson plans tailored to individual student needs.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
