Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher is needed to support students in grades K-12 at a school located in Wilkes Barre, PA. This position is a contract role starting in January 2026 and running through June 2026, with a work schedule of 30 to 37.5 hours per week, five days a week. The assigned classrooms include Self Contained, Resource, and Special Day Classrooms, offering the opportunity to work with diverse learners in a dynamic educational setting.

Qualifications:

• Active State Teaching License in Special Education
• Experience with special education for grades K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 preferred
• Strong knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs) and specialized instructional strategies
• Ability to manage a caseload effectively and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• Deliver tailored instruction to students with various learning needs across K-12 grade levels
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with state guidelines
• Maintain accurate records and provide progress reports on student achievement
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and support staff to foster a supportive learning environment
• Adapt classroom materials and teaching methods to meet individual student needs
