Job DescriptionJob SummaryThe Dual Front Desk/Medical Assistant plays a hybrid role supporting both clinical and administrative functions. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable rooming patients, assisting with clinical care, and also managing front desk duties such as scheduling, check-in, insurance verification, and patient communication. Experience with Athena EHR is required.
Front Desk / Administrative Duties:
- Greet and check in patients, ensuring accurate registration and demographic information
- Manage scheduling, appointment confirmations, and patient communications
- Perform insurance verification and collect co-pays
- Provide excellent customer service and help maintain patient flow
Medical Assistant Duties:
- Room patients and document vitals, medical history, and visit details in Athena
- Assist providers with clinical procedures and patient care activities
- Manage exam room cleanliness, supplies, and clinical readiness
- Support chronic care management workflows and assist with gap-in-care functions
- Demonstrate best practices in patient care while supporting training needs as they arise.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience with Athena EHR (required)
- Experience working as both a Medical Assistant and Front Desk/Receptionist in a primary care or similar setting
- Strong understanding of patient flow, clinical procedures, and front desk operations
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide a positive patient experience
- Strong organizational abilities and comfort working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask, problem-solve, and support providers and staff efficiently
- Knowledge of quality metrics, HCC coding, or care gap processes is a plus
