Job Description

Envision Construction is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our team in Sandy Springs, Georgia. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of surveying operations, from boundary and topographic surveys to construction staking and plat preparation. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to ensure full compliance with Georgia’s surveying laws and standards.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, review, and certify plats, legal descriptions, boundary surveys, and other survey deliverables.
Ensure compliance with Georgia Board of Professional Engineers & Land Surveyors standards and local jurisdiction requirements.
Lead and mentor survey staff, providing QA/QC on all survey work.
Manage field crews, review data collection, and ensure accuracy in deliverables.
Oversee survey control networks, construction staking, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
Liaise with clients, project managers, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
Maintain accurate documentation for licensing audits and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

Licensure: Must hold an active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Georgia or be eligible for reciprocity.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred. An associate’s degree with significant field experience may be considered.
Experience: Minimum 4–10 years of progressive land surveying experience, including legal boundary and plat work.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Leica Infinity, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience with GPS, robotic total stations, and LiDAR/laser scanning workflows.
- Strong knowledge of survey control networks, plat preparation, and legal descriptions.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and mentor junior staff.
