Job Description

Position Summary

The Retail Standards Auditor is responsible for conducting comprehensive compliance audits across Volvo Retailers using the US Retailer Standards 2026 assessment tool. This role ensures that each retailer meets Volvo’s global and U.S. market operational, brand, product, sales, service, sustainability, and process standards. The auditor will validate evidence, document findings, assign action items, and support continuous improvement through accurate, objective evaluations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Audit Execution & Compliance Verification

· Perform detailed in-dealership audits using the US Retailer Standards 2026 online tool, reviewing all standards across Sales, Service, Sustainability, Brand Experience, Product Experience, and Retailer Processes.

· Assess compliance through observation, staff interviews and documentation reviews using Yes/No responses, checklist validations, and evidence-based criteria required by each standard.

· Validate retailer adherence to both Global and US-specific Volvo requirements, including areas like:

  • Volvo Retail Experience (VRE) Verify that the physical dealership adheres to Volvo Retail Experience standards, including exterior, showroom, “living room”, workshop and all customer facing areas.
  • Facility condition, cleanliness and ongoing maintenance
  • Certified by Volvo processes
  • Tools & equipment accessibility and calibration
  • Parts management and storage
  • Cybersecurity practices and IT requirements
  • Sustainability and Safety principles to ensure the retailer is meeting Volvo’s rigorous standards for EV readiness, high-voltage battery handling, and environmental waste management.
  • Personnel staffing and Learning & Development requirements
  • Customer experience principles and program adherence

2. Evidence Collection & Documentation

· Confirm and document required evidence: photos, comments, attachments, and action items when non-compliance is identified.

· Capture all required images in assessment tool, include comments and/or photographic to support evidence of any standard in non-compliance .

3. Analysis & Reporting

· Score standards according to default point structures and response requirements.

· Generate clear summaries of gaps, high-priority issues, and areas for improvement.

· Produce action item recommendations following each non-compliant finding and ensure required deadlines and priorities are documented.

4. Collaboration & Communication

· Meet with retailer management teams to explain findings and clarify standards.

· Provide guidance for corrective actions, referencing Volvo requirements, such as VIDA checklists, warranty processes, marketing guidelines, and workshop procedures.

· Deliver feedback in a professional, neutral, and solutions-oriented manner.

5. Continuous Improvement & Standards Expertise

· Maintain expert-level knowledge of all standards included in the workbook, especially those requiring:

  • Mandatory comments
  • Required photos
  • Special instructions (e.g., warranty documentation retention, One Voice Alerts, Certified by Volvo requirements)

· Identify recurring compliance issues to support Volvo Retail Operations in refining future standards and training.

Qualifications

Required

· Experience in auditing, compliance, automotive retail operations, or quality assurance.

· Experience in automotive dealership operations in both sales and service.

· Ability to interpret detailed technical, operational, and brand standards.

· Excellent communication and documentation skills.

· Strong analytical and observational capabilities.

· High integrity and commitment to objective, evidence-based assessment.

Preferred

· Experience with automotive OEM programs (Volvo preferred).

· Knowledge of Volvo systems, Volvo warranty processes, service operations, parts operations and sales standards.

· Familiarity with sustainability practices, health and safety standards, and facility audits.

Key Competencies

· Detail Orientation: Ensures accurate evaluations of every standard and Yes/No item. Ability to identify subtle deviations in brand signage, lighting, and customer hospitality standards.

· Time Management: Efficiently completes audits across large numbers of standards and categories.

· Professional Communication: Clearly conveys compliance issues and required improvements.

· Technical Aptitude: Understands tools, workshop environments, and digital systems.

· Objectivity: Makes fair and consistent compliance determinations.

Work Environment

· Frequent travel to Volvo Retailer locations within an assigned territory.

· On-site inspection of dealership showrooms, service bays, parts departments, and administrative areas.

· Regular use of laptops, tablets, and photo equipment for evidence capture.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate may not have been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At MSXi, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of this casual position's current daily wage is range is $850 to $1000 based on current experience.
