Job DescriptionSenior Accounting Analyst
Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid)
Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Type: 9-month contract
Compensation: $45-$55/hour (DOE)
Job Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accounting Analyst to support accounting operations, financial analysis, and reporting activities. This role blends hands-on accounting with analytical responsibilities and is ideal for a strong individual contributor who enjoys working with data, improving processes, and supporting accurate financial reporting. CPA is not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Support month-end and quarter-end close processes
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts; investigate and resolve variances
- Assist with internal and external financial reporting
- Develop and maintain analytical schedules and reporting tools
- Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
- Partner with Accounting, FP&A, and Finance teams on reporting and analysis
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through financial analysis
- Assist with process improvements, documentation, and system enhancements
- Support ad hoc accounting and reporting projects as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5-8+ years of progressive accounting and/or financial analysis experience
- CPA not required
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles
- Experience with month-end close and account reconciliations
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or similar preferred)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Experience in a corporate or shared services environment
- Exposure to financial reporting or FP&A collaboration
- Prior contract or project-based accounting experience
