HARTZ Search invites you to explore an exciting opportunity with our client, University of Maryland Medical System, for the Nurse Manager, Emergency Department. The Nurse Manager oversees, supervises, and coordinates patient care activities and nursing services on a 24-hour schedule. They ensure the delivery of proper patient care aligned with quality standards. Additionally, they assign patient care tasks to both professional and support staff in the nursing unit to optimize their time and skills.
This leader will foster a culture of accountability, empowerment, and continuous improvement, driving high-quality patient care and team engagement. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator and change agent who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to building a high-performing, collaborative team. QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligibility for licensure due to Compact state agreement outlined through the MD Board of Nursing is required.
- BSN required. Master’s degree preferred.
- BCLS certification is required. ACLS certification is preferred.
- Nursing Administration or clinical certification preferred.
- A minimum of three to five years of management experience in the ED is required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of recent nursing experience in an acute care setting; including one (1) year Charge Nurse experience. Proven clinical competence and proficiency in the area of specialty is required.
- Union experience is highly preferred.
